Objective:

The theme of this seminar is to show how computer algebra in
industry can be useful and cost effective. The focal point will
consist of approximately ten case studies of applications of
computer algebra in industry. The cases have been developed by
(or in collaboration with) European companies of diverse origins,
and will be presented by people involved with the subject. The
seminar will end with a panel discussion. Members of the panel
are prominent research managers from the industrial and academic
world. There will be ample opportunity to become acquainted with
various computer algebra systems available at location.

SCAFI '91 is the first seminar to be dedicated to case studies of
the use of computer algebra in industry. It will be a platform for
discussion for both users and developers of computer algebra in an
industrial environment. Among those introducing computer algebra,
it is unique in the way it addresses people who use mathematics in
industry.

Location, registration and lodging:

All sessions will be held at CWI, Kruislaan 413, Amsterdam.
The talks will be held in English. The registration fee is f 1150.
Participants can be lodged at hotel Arthur Frommer in Amsterdam.
Hotel rates are approximately f 135 per night.
