The first installment in the electronic publication of a collection of instructional Mathematica (TM) Notebooks has been placed in MathSource. Title: "EXPLORING NEURAL NETWORKS WITH MATHEMATICA" Copyright: Copyright 1989-1992 by Jacques J. Vidal, University of California, Los Angeles. The following files have been sent or will be shortly: ContinuousUnits.ma.sit.hqx DiscreteUnits.ma.sit.hqx 1-BackPropagation.ma.sit.hqx 1-KohonenMap.ma.sit.hqx 1-Hopfield.ma.sit.hqx Revision Date: December 1992 These Notebooks have been developed as material for two Neural Neworks courses at UCLA. This first posting covers some basic theory and very elementary examples of common neural net algorithms. These Notebooks are informal and strictly stand-alone. They are given to students as starting points for exploration and as initial models for their term notebooks. They do not rely on a knowledge of Mathematica. Priority has been given to readability and self-documentation. You are free to access, copy or modify these Notebooks and use at your own risk for any non-commercial endeavor. No representation is made about the suitability of these Notebooks for their intended or any other purpose. They are provided "as is" without express or implied warranty.
