Has anyone in this group used Mathematica to solve partial dif.eq's via separation of variables? I took the obvious first step of defining my function as a product of three terms, each a function of one space variable. Is there any way to tell mathematica that certain variables are completely independant, so that it will separate them? Thanks for any ideas. Alex alex at fff.chem.utah.edu (Alex Dommasch)
