Excell <-> MMa

Perhaps this has been beaten into the ground, but hey, I just started
reading this group again...

Anyone have hints/tips/etc for getting MMa 2.1 to talk via AppleEvents
to programs such as Excel? I have some statistics problems that would be
awfully nice to do in this manner.
