There is some basic stuff in Crandall's book, Mathematica for the
Sciences. I have written some simple Mathematica code for checking and
calculating Lax pairs for some 5th order problems, (cf. the paper by
Fordy in Physica D, v. 52, pg 204, 1991), with applications to
integrable cases of the Henon-Heiles systems and to the theory of
elliptic solitons. I can send more information or preprints on
request.
