Don't know if this will help in your problem, but I found some applications
where the following procedure allowed useful postscript output to be produced
on the NeXT. Select the figure in Mathematica, copy to the pasteboard in
the edit submenue, then paste into Draw. Then use the Save To selection int
the Document submenue of Draw and select the Save file as PostScript option.
this creates a .eps file that is compatible with many other applications.
