Hello Mathgroup,
Has anyone developed a backward shift operator that can be used for times
series analysis a la Box Jenkins? I am interested in fitting experimental data
to ARMA type models and would like to be able to express these models
explicitly in terms of powers of a backward shift operator.
Also, I am having trouble getting my NeXT version of Mathematica (v.2.0.3)
to recognize Greek symbols. When I flip the font to a Greek character set
I find it difficult to flip back to a normal font set (i.e. to mix Greek
and normal characters in the same expression). Furthermore, Mathematica
does not recognize these characters and returns all normal characters
after an evaluation.
Appreciate the help, thanks,
John W. Szuhay
