one can map Part over the list as in 

In[1]:= Solve[0==3 x^2 + 4 x -15, x]

                          5
Out[1]= {{x -> -3}, {x -> -}}
                          3

In[2]:= Part[#[[1]],2]& /@ %

             5
Out[2]= {-3, -}
             3
