Stepwise Regression?

I've been starting to use Mma and liking the systems objective nature but am lacking one  
crucial piece of code - Stepwise Linear regression.

Has anyone written such a package?  Know where to find one? or know how to implement  
one from existing C-code?

>From my perspective, a package would be simplest.  I have sent messages to  
sci.math.stat and sci.math.symbolic but gotten only general C-code leads which I have yet  
to pursue.
