I sent the following posting comp.sys.mac.apps also, but it may be of relevance here as well... Background: I plotted a curve in Mathematica, copied the graphics cell and subsequently saved the graph to an Encapsulated Postscript (EPS) file. I imported the EPS graph to Aldus Freehand to add some legends and labels. Since I am usinf Feehand 3.1, I decided to try out the Publish/Subscribe feature, hence I published the Greehand-modified graph in EPS format (the dialog lets one to choose between EPS and PICT) and subscribed to the graph from Word 5.0. Result: The EPS objewct originally exported from Mathematica prints (from Word) with screen resolution and axes numbers look as if they were bitmap renditions of the original fonts. The legends and other objects added by Freehand print in high quality. Another dilemma: If I export the graph from Freehand as separate EPS file and insert the picture into Word, the printed plot looks just fine; the changes made in the graph must, however, be updated by re-exporting and re-inserting the picture. Question: Does anyone out there know, why the Publish/Subscribe feature produces such poor results? Which program is to blame? Tero Siili Finnish Meteorological Institute Tero.Siili at fmi.fi
