Unit arrows

Dear friends, does anybody knows how to draw togheter with a vector field 
(using for instance the Package Graphics`PlotField`) an arrow of unit
length as legend. We tried using rectangle, but we did not succeded in rescalingcorrectly the small one containing the unit lengt arrow.

Any suggestion?
