Hi mathgroupers ..

I am a chemist . In my work we get absorption spectra (ultra violet).
each absorption line can be represented by a gaussian function .
When the spectrum is complex ( that happens quite often ) those gaussian
peaks overlape , and the spectrum is a summation of n gaussian functions .

Now , has any one used mathematica to resolve those such a summation of
gaussian functions into its individual components, we call it deconvolution .

Simply , i want to fit some experimental points to a summation of n gaussian
function (n=3-6) , and find the parameters of each gaussian ( ei position ,
maximum hight and full width at half maximum)

Thanks

A.Talib
