We are looking for a graduate student experienced with Mma and with a strong background in statistics for a 3 to 6 months stay in our lab. We are conducting a statistical analysis of a familly of stochastic processes modelling a biochemical reaction. Some convergence theorems were demonstrated and a preliminary numerical study of these properties is in progress. The proposed work would be to investigate in more details this numerical analysis, to refine the accuracy of the computations and to validate the results with monte-carlo simulations. Moreover, it would be interesting to improve the Mma functions used for this work and to collect them in a package to be made available to the biomedical community. This project could start in May. Knowledge of french is not required for work. We are a group of 92 people devoted to the applications of computer science and mathematical modelling to biology and medecine. For instance, some of our projects are in the field of computer assisted surgery or neural network modelling. Grenoble is a very attractive place. It is located in the south eastern part of France in the middle of the Alps, 30 minutes far from Alberville, 2 hours from the Mont Blanc. Anybody interested should contact me. ----------------------------------- Jean Peccoud TIMC-IMAG Faculte de medecine de Grenoble F-38700 La Tronche France tel : (33) 76 63 71 85 fax : (33) 76 51 86 67 E-mail : Jean.Peccoud at imag.fr
