One simple way to get the points that are used in Plot is to save
them
as the function is evaluated.

pts = {}

Plot[ AppendTo[ pts, t]; Sin[t], {t,0,2}]

for Plot.  Or

pts = {}

ParametricPlot[ AppendTo[ pts, t]; {Sin[t], Cos[t]},{t,0,2Pi}]

After either of these pts contains the points that were evaluated by
the Plot command.
