Orientation of tick labels

Mathgroup,

Is there an EASY way to rotate the text associated with the tick marks of the
x-axis of a 2D plot (so that the text is vertical rather than horizontal)?  At
the moment if a graph is small, or the tick labels are large, the text for each
tick overlaps, and makes the graph look a real mess.
