Given two variables x and y with 2 different ranges of definition
Say 1<x<2 and 3<y<4. Then for example take a calculation with
these variables perhaps Min[f1[x],f2[y]]. =

How can I tell MMA to do this. Definitions like
Positive[x-a]=3DTrue don't work. Has anyone an idea
how to solve this task?
