I have been working for a couple of weeks with the Windows 95 version of Mathematica 3.0 and have been having a great deal of trouble with axes and plot labels. At least with the default settings for fonts etc., Mathematica regularly screws up these labels, sometimes overwriting symbols on top of one another, sometimes shoving the labels outside the range of the plot so they are neither visible nor printable, sometimes stretching the labels so they have large gaps between words. This happens inconsistently---a given notebook will have screwed up labels one time it's run, OK labels the next time it's run. i've tried a few alternative styles and fonts without finding a way to solve the problem. Has anyone else had this kind of problem? Can anyone help me solve it? PLEASE send EMAIL if you know anything about this. Many thanks in advance. -- --------------------- Prof. Michael A.
