  They seem not to be equal.

In[7]:= Sqrt [ R ( R - x ) ] Sqrt [ ( R - x ) x ] / ( R x - R^2 ) - Sqrt[  
R / x ] /. {R->-1, x->1}

Out[7]= -2 I
