Help with fitting data ....

Dear netters

I am a chemist ( another excuse to be poor in mathematics :) ) , I need to 
fit some experimental data to a mathematical model , the model contains 
4 or more independant variables and has the following form :

f(x,y,z,p)=  a1 * x**b1  +  a2 * y**b2  +  a3 * z**b3  +  a4 * p**b4 

I need to optimize the ai's and bi's  to fit the experimental points f. 

I have tried the function 'Fit' in mathematica but it can only optimize the 
ai's and not the bi's. 

I would appreciate any help i can get.
