Since none of the symbolic mathematical operations in
Mathematica use even one floating-point operation, it is not going
to make any difference for these.

Plotting, NIntegrate, NDSolve  may run faster in the expensive
version because the Compile function works there.   

It would be interesting to get some recent timing data from someone with
both versions.
