I am running on unix with X. Has anyone found out how to do any of the following notebook manipulations from the kernel? When creating a new notebook, how do you give it a file name other than the default Untitled-i? How can you shrink / expand (iconify / deiconify) notebooks from the kernel? How can you test for the existence and validity of a Notebook object? In other words, how could you tell if it had been closed from the menus or not? Thanks for any suggestions.
