I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts concerning the utility of some of the Mathematica graphics reference books on the market. Two of them have caught my eye lately: the one by Wickham-Jones ("Mathematica Graphics"), and the one by Smith and Blachman ("Mathematica Graphics Guidebook"). I suppose what I'm most concerned about is how up-to-date they are. Both seem to refer to 2.2, and I now work with 3.0. From what I can see so far, it looks like not much has changed in the way graphics work between these versions (unlike previous versions, apparently). Would I be spending money usefully by picking up one of these books? Or should I just stick with the Mathematica Book itself? Of course, a lot of it would depend on what I plan to *do* with graphics. Basically, I want a general understanding of how they work in the context of Mathematica, with the intent of incorporating what I learn into specialized packages, etc. While the Wolfram text makes a good reference, I'm sure it's not as expository or tutorial-oriented as the more specialized books. Any comments? Thanks, Dave... ===== David S. Pieczkiewicz, B.
