Integrating conditionals

Given:

PsiEven := D Exp[k a] Cosh[l a] Exp[-k x]   /;  x > a PsiEven := D
Cosh[l x]                      /;  x < Abs[a] PsiEven := D Exp[k a]
Cosh[l a] Exp[k x]    /;  x < -a

why can't Mathematica compute:

Integrate[ PsiEven[x]^2, {x,-Infinity,Infinity}]

it seems pretty straight forward....
