The technology column of today's (Nov. 10, 1997) New York Times gives an extremely favorable review of Mathematica. Titled "Connections: Mathematica is a software program that puts joy back in the numbers game", the article includes comments such as: * "In it's latest incarnation -- Version 3.0, introduced last year for $1,295, with a student version available for $140 -- Mathematica is a programming language, a calculator, a composite of subtle mathematical algorithms, and a program that is more powerful than any application that has yet been devised for it." * "The program is a cyberslide rule of sorts, which invites play and inventiveness, creates a kind of tactile feel for mathematical operations and encourages the most elaborate forms of experimentation."
