I have the 3.0.1 Student ver. running on my Win95 machine, but want to link up to kernels running on the UNIX workstations at school. I know the dialup works fine. The TCP/IP runs great, and taking into account the dynamic IP addressing I can route from Univ. machines to my machine or from my machine to the Univ. machines without a problem. I can login to the UNIX machines, and run "math" at the prompt... works great. I have disabled term type prompt on logon, forcing a vt100. I set the remote kernel option to "requires password". No go. It asks for a password, trys to logon, and then the front-end just sits around. Any idea what I'm missing? I have RTFM'd and checked all thru the website FAQs but cannot find anything relavent to this problem. thanks in advance, Hunter -- \||// It is by caffeine alone I set my mind in motion, It is by the oO beans of Java that thoughts acquire speed, The hands acquire ()^() shaking, the shaking becomes a warning, It is by caffeine alone U I set my mind in motion.
