2D Diffusion Eqn with NDSolve

hello,

I've been fiddling with NDSolve and it appears that it doesn't like any
PDE with more than one spatial dimension. Could anyone advise me as to
whether Mathematica simply will not solve an n-dimensional PDE with n
>1? Or am I missing something silly...

It just appears that NDSolve's parameters don't allow for more spatial
dimensions....e.g., NDSolve[eqns, y, {x, xmin, xmax}, {t, tmin, tmax}]
with options after the fourth position doesn't appear encouraging...

Any assistance would be appreciated!

Thanks!
