MathLink questions

Can anyone point me towards any good online documentation/examples that
demonstrate the uses of MathLink?  I am interested in using Mathematica
for a project running on Solaris that currently uses Matlab.  Most of
my reason is curiousity, but also to explore what advantages can be
found using one over the other.
