The reason that you are seeing all caps when you mount the CD-ROM is
that the HP-UX is way behind the rest of the world in being able to
mount an ISO 9660 format CD-ROM with Rock Ridge Extensions. A
discussion of how to deal with this under HP-UX 10.10 and 10.20 can be
found at URL:

http://www.wolfram.com/support/Systems/Unix/HP/RecognizeCD.html

The filenames on the CD actually use a mix of caps and lowercase
letters. For example, the installation script is named "MathInstaller."
Since the Mathematica file layout is rather large, it would be a very
tedious copy the CD-image to a hard drive and rename all of the files.

Even if you were to try to do this, there's no guarantee that
Mathematica 3.0 will run reliably on your release of HP-UX. The HP
PA-RISC version was built on a machine running HP-UX 10.10, so there
may be some backward compatibility problems.
