The rules are associated with Subscript rather than with A.  Try 

	?Subscript 

and you will see this. You can either use Unset, i.e.,

	\!\(A\_n[x_]\  =.\)

or use Clear[Subscript] (but this clears _all_ rules associated with
Subscript).
