First, select an empty cell and change its format to "text" and set your
cursor in it.  Go into the Input:Create Value Display Object.  In that
menu choose the Global variable drop down menu and scroll down.  Choose
the Date or DateLong object and click OK.  You will now see the date
displayed in the text cell.  With your cursor still in the cell, choose
Show Expression (ctrl-shift-e).  You will now see the syntax for
creating the date in a cell and you can use it in the Headers and
Footers Dialog box.  You can even combine objects to make unique
formats of date or other information.
