Hi arie,

set the option ImageResolution of the Display[] function  to the desired
value before You use the Menu-Item. 
 
Write in a new notebook
SetOptions[Display,ImageResolution->2400]

switch to the notebook to export it with very large images and use the
Export Special | HTML item from the menu
