While the internals of Mathematica are not made public, there are
several implementation notes available in the Mathematica book.  See
Appendix A.9, or if you use the online help, you can paste the
following cell expression hyperlink which will take you to this
Appendix's contents.

You may find this useful in giving more specific information in your
article with regards to what algorithms were used for the calculation.
