I have been trying to get 3.0 running on Digital Unix 4.0D, am having
problems that have not been completely resolved. My problems seem to
concern memory allocation and limits--according to a Wolfram support
person the system is limiting the amount of memory a single process can
use. That Mathematica seems to be running correctly when I run it as
root seems to confirm this.

You may want to try running mathematica as root to see if you are
encountering a similar problem. I used default parameters when I
installed the operating system recently. If you did the same this may
be your problem. I am waiting to get the kernal parameters from Wolfram
to try to modify this now.

Hope this helps,
