Mathematica comes with two packages for solving algebraic inequalities
(InequalitySolve and AlgebraicInequalities but none of them have ready
functions to plot the sort of graphs you want. It is not too difficult
to program a simple package of this kind but there is amuch better
way. The book "Exploring Mathematics with Mathematica", by Theodore W.
Gray and Gerry Glynn contains an elegant package by Theodore Gray which
does just that. I think it should be available somewhere on the
Internet though it does not seem to be on MathSource? If you can't find
it I can sent it to you (I hope I wouldn't be breaking aby copyright by
doing so, but it seems to me that such Mathematica packages can be
considered as freeware??)
