Nabil,

Unfortunately, your workaround does not work. This can be verified by 
differentiating your results.  The reason that you arrived at the wrong 
result is that Log[x] is Log[E, x] not Log[x, E].

Even if you use Log[a, x] (in hopes of later substitution of a by E)  
Mathematica returns the same error message.
