Hi Peter,

this will not help you. I assume that ghostview drop some initial code
located on page 1 when it selects the even pages.
Somewehre on page 1 must be a statement that the fonts are iso-latin
encoded instead of adobe standard (that hat not all umlauts).
ghostview removed this statment and your printer uses the
standard font encoding.

To set the ppage size and page dimensions you can use the
Preferences | Notebook Options | Printing Options | Printing Options |
PaperSize
and PageSize
