save as html

I run Mathematica 4 under Mac OS 8.6. Everything appears to go normally
when I use menu selections to accomplish a "Save As Special" of a Notebook
File in html format. However, when the saved html is read by my browser
(Netscape 4.5) all gif images created in the process appear as mirror
images rotated in the mirror's plane by 180 deg. Is this wierd, or what?.
