Dear David and Mathgroup, I too have had trouble with
disappearing images in PowerPoint. My correspondence with
the folks at Tech Support appears below.

I inserted the picture "tmp" into a
Microsoft PowerPoint 98 presentation.
On-screen, the picture is invisible.
