Hi, I'm not so familiar with Mathematica, so I suppose this is perhaps a dumb question. I have, nested deep in an equation, something like Power[-5,(1/3)], with the -5 quite a big expression with a few symbolic parameters. Now when I evaluate that function for some values of the parameters, I get a complex result because Mathematica encounters the mulivalued function and chooses a complex root instead of the existing real one. I suppose there should be an easy way around this ... I'm still working with the old Mathematica 2.2. Thanks very much, Filip
