Hello !
Is there a way to accelerate a remote running mathematica session ?
I sometimes run mathematica over an ssh-link and it is very slow, after
every line a counter at the bottom with the label Checking 1% to 100% and
then saving 1% to 100%. So even some trivial calculations are taking minutes
to complete. A top on the remote machine shows almost no load.

Remote: Dual pentium 400 Mhz, Linux, local AIX 4.3.

Is there some way to "disable" this checking and saving, or maybe just at
the end of some longer calculation ?

The network link is at least 10 Mb/s-Ethernet (no modem/ISDN).

Regards

       Helge
