There was, I think from 3.0 on backwards, also a DumpSave[filename.mx]
possibility which would truly save the full kernel state (including
In and Out assignments).
Unfortunately this has been dropped.
I suggested to keep it or reintroduce it but was met with resistance ...
Maybe more people should use the suggestions at wolfram.com possibility...
