Your problem is discussed in the Help|Add-ons|Standard
Packages|DiscreteMath|RSolve. As a novice user you are probably unaware that
the underscore "_" (called "Blank") has a specific meaning in Mathematica:
it is a pattern object that can stand for any expression. So you must start
by rewriting your coefficients and throw out all the blanks therein.
