Hi,

it is already on you Mathematica installation.
Look at

AddOns/ExtraPackages/ProgrammingInMathematica/NotebookLog.m

that generate a Mathematica notebook from a kernel session.

If you don't like to use the Frontend to see the results later,
the package may give you some ideas how to make a text log.

It is extensively described in "Programming in Mathematica" 3th Edition
by Roman Maeder,
