Import a jpg/wmf file

All,
I import  a 37kByte jpeg file...

Timing[Show[Import ["name.jpg"]]]

and it takes Mathematica 30 seconds to do this!? (25 sec. for a bmp
file).

- wmf is only supported for export.

Any suggestions?
