Dear MathGroup,

Well the N problem came back but John Fultz at Wolfram seems to have put his
finger on the solution. Apparently there is a bug in HP printer drivers,
laser and ink jet, that somehow subtly causes the problem. Setting up a
fake, non HP, printer and making it the default printer eliminates the
problem. Of course, then you have to change the selected printer anytime you
print. After printing, the problem returns for that single Mathematica
session, but goes away for a fresh Mathematica session.
