Ralf,

Yes. Check the specifications in MultipleListPlot.

To obtain an error bar with an x extension only just use, for example:

ErrorBar[{-0.5, 0.3}, {0, 0}]

This is a slight modification of the example in the MultipleListPlot Help.

MultipleListPlot[
    {2,
      {1.5, 3.2},
      {2.5, ErrorBar[0.3]},
      {{4.4, 5.2}, ErrorBar[{-0.5, 0.3}, {0, 0}]}, {{5.5, 2.1}, 
        ErrorBar[{-0.4, 0.3}, {-0.2, 0.5}]}},
    PlotRange -> All,
    Frame -> True];
