Last week I got a very nice package posted on MathSource. The package
defines a function called RootSearch which tries to find all roots of an
equation between (xmin, xmax). The function is very robust.

For now RootSearch can only solve a single equation in a single variable. I
have thought about extending it to multiple dimensions or for finding
complex roots, and I might do so during the next few years. A robust
algorithm for such problems would be more complicated, and I would have to
learn about the methods that are most effective in those cases.
