Stefan,

    nm=N[(Sqrt[2]+Sqrt[3])^2002,2000];

    {digits, numberLeftOfPoint} = RealDigits[nm];

    Drop[digits,numberLeftOfPoint-2];

    Take[%,4]

    {0,9,9,9}

So, 2 digits before point are 0,9 and the two digits after it are 9, 9.

I must confess to some surprise at the great block of nines, but since they
are followed by 7405908 they seem to be correct.
