Hello Eric.
Use "FullGraphics":

In[1]:=
p1 = Plot[Sin[1/x], {x, -6, 6}]

In[2]:=
p2 = Plot[Sin[1/x], {x, -1, 1}, Frame -> True]

In[3]:=
xScaleF = 3;
yScaleF = 0.5;
windowPos = {6, 2};

In[6]:=
Show[p1, Graphics[
    FullGraphics[p2][[1]] /.
        Text[a_, b_, c_] :> Text[a, b, Floor[c]] /. {x_Real,
          y_Real} :> ({x*xScaleF, y*yScaleF} + windowPos)]]
