Debbie,
1. For each show option type, Show[ gr1, gr2, .. , grn, showoptions] uses
the firse option of that type in , showoptions options from gr1 (options
from gr2 ... are not used); so in your code the option PlotRange -> {0,1} is
not effective.
2. The SurfaceGraphics object generated by Plot3D will be automatically
converted to a Graphics3D object when shown with such an object.
3. We can collect the points together in a list and use single directive
PointSize[.05].

Show[Plot3D[2*x + y, {x, 0, 1}, {y, 0, 1},
   PlotRange -> {0, 1}, ClipFill -> None],
  Graphics3D[{PointSize[0.05], Point[{0, 0, 0}],
    Point[{0, 0, 1}], Point[{0, 1, 0}],
    Point[{0, 1, 1}]}]]

4. If we want to show only the last picture we can turn display off and then
on.

Show[Plot3D[2*x + y, {x, 0, 1}, {y, 0, 1},
    DisplayFunction -> Identity],
   Graphics3D[{PointSize[0.05], Point[{0, 0, 0}],
     Point[{0, 0, 1}], Point[{0, 1, 0}],
     Point[{0, 1, 1}]}], DisplayFunction ->
    $DisplayFunction, PlotRange -> {{0, 1}, {0, 1},
     {0, 1.1}}];

(I have used (0,1.1} to show the highest point)
